A2C`s Jack Beatty from Pittsburgh, PA and Larry Whitten from Buffalo, MO. This picture was taken during an alert. Probably about the time the Marines went into Lebanon during 1958. The site was shut up pretty tight. No one allowed on or off post for a few days.
A picture of Larry Whitten in the Radar Maint. shop. Behind Larry is the work bench and tool board. On the door is our shift schedule. Note: there were only 11 men in the shop. If there was a problem on the swing or mid shift, some of the off duty personnel would have to come in and help the person on duty to get the problem fixed. No one was allowed to do any maintenance other than shift checks by himself. (Safety)
Another picture of Larry performing a bench check on the UPX-6.
