Site History and Findings of Fact
Constructed by the Air Force in 1956, and operated as unmanned radar station by Baudette Air Force Station. Consisted of a masonry building and radar tower surrounded by a security fence perimeter. The property consisted of 0.36 acres with a 0.06 acre easement.
Disposal of the property occurred after a declaration of excess on January 29 1969. GSA quitclaimed the site to the Village of Big Falls in July 1969, which converted it into a microwave relay station for the City of Big Falls. The concrete block building was converted to house switching gear, and the new microwave tower was erected. The three concrete footings for the old radar tower still remain.
