On Radar Road, app. 3.5 miles south of Sault Ste Marie, Soo Township, Chippewa County, MI
Site History and Findings of Fact
Property consisted of 71.22 acres, originally acquired by lease on July 1949, and then by condemnation on June 1967. 44.29 acres used as the 753rd AC&W Squadron are addressed in this report.
The Air Force constructed and operated the 753rd AC&W Squadron. 66 structures were constructed on the site.
It was excessed to GSA on January 1981, and conveyed in 1982 to Allan and Sandra Reynolds of Key Biscayne, FL.
The radar antenna and appurtenant equipment were the only improvements reserved by the government, with the right to remove them within 60 days from the date of conveyance.
At the time of the 1988 report, the family housing units were currently rented out, and the barracks and other support buildings constructed by the Air Force being renovated by the owners for office, storage, and additional rental apartments. Portions of the radar sail still remained on the ground.

Two maps and 16 poor-quality Xeroxed copies of B & W photos accompany the report. The photos depict the radar sail, several buildings, transformers and switch gear, and underground storage tanks pertaining to recommended removal via the Defense Environmental restoration program (DERP).
